Barbering @ Franco’s is a local institution. Situated just off Gloucester Rd, Franco’s has been cutting/styling/shaving for nearly 26 years! The salon is newly renovated and has a Flatscreen TV and surround sound – an unmissable experience!
The team are passionate about mens’ grooming and can create the most complex up-to-date styles whilst also providing the best in classic barbering. This team take the pretence out of the salon experience so you can relax and chill.
Franco has over 30 years’ experience in barbering. He set up Franco’s in 1985. His passion for barbering and customer service is easy to see with consistent queues out the door. Five years ago Franco set up moda hairdressing with his wife Tina. He gets incredible feedback from students with whom he shares his wealth of experience from business skills, to hot towel shaves, to creative cuts. Delivered for free at training academies in Bristol, these training & advice sessions help fill the gap in teaching men’s hairdressing skills across the City.
With 15 years in the trade (nearly 10 with Franco) Steve is committed to the best in men’s grooming and can create any style you like! He’s recently trained in London’s Tigi Academy and been involved with Franco in creatively directing fashion shows for Bristol Rockstyle.
With 5 years in the trade Sam is our commited new member. His passion for hairdressing and life in general is plain to see! Sam loves working at Franco’s… but who wouldn’t?!!
Dan is our newest member (another Cheddarite) and is fresh to the team. He’s a great barber and is loving the Gloucester Road vibe. Get him to show you the EYES!
Hot towel shaves - So much more than an ordinary shave…. relax for a luxuriant 40 minutes and enjoy the experience. First a full face cleanse, then kick back while the hot towels, soaked in tea tree oil, soak your skin, opening up the pores. Then a full lather ready for the first shave and a second closer shave, all with a new set of cut-throat razor blades. The experience is rounded off with a cold water cleanse to close the pores and a face massage using moisturisers to replace the oils stripped out by the shave. A great gift to be treated to or a great way to treat yourself!
Creative cuts - Perhaps you’re looking for an avant-garde look, or maybe there’s a particular shape you’re after. This bespoke cut is a completely personalised service – it’s certainly not just your basic trim!
Late night Tuesdays – Fridays till 7pm - No need to rush straight home after work, come in and relax and enjoy a chilled out late night cut, no appointment necessary!
Breakfast club 7:30-9am Fridays - Who needs an extra hour in bed? We certainly don’t! Wake up and get your day started with a free croissant and coffee (or tea if you prefer) and a friendly morning chat…
Tigi & American Crew stockist – We use the best products in men’s groooming – TIGI B For Men and American Crew
Gifts vouchers - You can buy vouchers for a service e.g. haircut or shave, or for an amount (£5, £10 and £20 available) or you can buy a box set as a gift. There is no time limit on the vouchers at Franco’s.
Franco’s is not just a Barber shop, it’s an institution! I have been going to Franco’s for about 13 years and I always look forward to making the trip!
Whilst it’s obviously somewhere to get your hair cut, you always feel that the cut is the side order as the main event is the chat. It’s such a refreshing thing to have the whole place joining in with conversations/jokes/stories that you feel that your making friends with complete strangers who you may never see again but always wish well on their way!
The cuts are always good quality and the boys are never afraid to offer a creative suggestion or two. With the early starts offering free coffee and the late finishes on some nights, The guys have really designed an establishment which caters for all and is always busy. But any waiting time flies by and when you leave you look forward to the next time you visit.

Best barbers in Bristol bar none. I have been going to Franco’s for about 7 years. The guys treat all their customers like old friends (I moved out of the area for 4 years and when I went back in Franco greeted me by name – amazing!) and the atmosphere is welcoming fun and lively. Of course, if goes without saying that the haircuts are first class. I would never go anywhere else!

By far the best barbers in bristol and beyond! Its definitely a case of ‘wanting’ a haircut as oppose to ‘needing’ a haircut since I discovered this place! The late night opening really helps as I travel a fair few miles after work to visit…. I would recommend Franco’s to anyone wanting a decent cut and a good chin wag! cheers lads!
